Champagny en Vanoise is part of the La Plagne ski area, but we're classing it as a separate resort as it sits in a different valley to La Plagne altogether.
If you're holidaying in Champagny, you won't be out and about in La Plagne in the evening, for example. Unless you want to take a 1.5-hour taxi back home?
You'll be skiing in La Plagne but staying in sunny, traditional Champagny. A charming little place great for families.
At the top of Champagny, the chairlifts serve several green and blue runs, ideal for beginners.
Experienced skiers can reach the village by the red piste of Le Bois, which runs through the forest, or you can try the mythical Mont de la Guerre piste, which attracts many skiers.

More about Champagny en Vanoise
Access to higher peaks
Although Champagny sits at 1200m altitude, there are higher summits to be found over in La Plagne.
Due to the climate crisis, the glacier is no longer accessible by lift, but it is hike-able if you're a savvy mountaineer who fancies a spot of free-riding.
There ain't no shame in seeking the advice of a professional guide if you're heading off-piste and don't really know what you're doing.
A small resort with a family feel
Champagny is a small, local resort with a magical mountain feel. It's great for small kids as there are two beginner areas for learning to ski, while the pool is perfect for white-out days or an afternoon post-ski dip.
Big time skiing, small time prices
Connected to the main ski area of La Plagne by high-speed gondola, Champagy offers the same skiing as a holiday to the world-famous La Plagne but with a smaller, more charming price.
Forget the purpose-built highrises of Belle Plagne and think of small cobbled streets and cosy alpine hamlets.
You'll get a lot more bang for your buck in Champagy, and more often than not, nicer accommodation. Okay, you won't be out exploring the sights of La Plagne each night, but in essence, if that's not what you're looking for, Champagny is a great option for world-class skiing at world-class prices.
Ski Accommodation in Champagny en Vanoise
Champagny is a picturesque village within the La Plagne (Paradiski) ski area, it's a quieter spot than La Plagne itself and at Yodl we think it gives you incredible value. You have the same massive ski area but the accommodation is twice as nice for the same price. If you're seeking a low-key getaway to the mountains, Champagny should be high on your list. Choose from a big selection of privately owned apartments here, plus a couple of chalets and a residence; which is essentially an apartment block with a front desk and communal areas.
Hidden gems
Charming streets

Natural beauty
Perched on the Vanoise National Park, Champagny en Vanoise is overrun with natural sights and beauty. The mountains come alive in this untouched oasis of tranquillity.
